Everyone knows google. Most people understand how well google works. Some people don’t realize though that google can make you RICH! No, that’s not a sales pitch to hype you up. It’s completely true and easy to research and see for yourself. The reason I say “google can make you rich” is because google is the largest search engine, with the most users and most traffic. The other search engines (namely yahoo! search and MSN Live search) are also important but google is the mother load as far as being indexed and the traffic you can get. And lets be clear, traffic means money! The more users you can get to your site the more chances that you will have users who are interested in, and click on, the ads. The more people who might buy something from one of your affiliate links or banners.

If you need a little inspiration, there are dozens of resource sites that are making tens of thousands of dollars a MONTH! Even some making more than $100,000 a month! I won’t kid you, that is the high end and takes a ton of work to get to that level but the main thing they have that you don’t is great targeted traffic and they get that traffic with great content to keep users coming back, great marketing and promotion and great rankings in the search engines.

Don’t understand how a silly myspace site could make over 100k a month? Well consider how many gazillions of searches done on google each day. Then consider how many myspace users there are (over 100 million accounts and growing fast still). Just to give an example, a couple of the top searched terms on the whole net through google are myspace related. Right now the search term “myspace layouts” is one of the most searched for terms OF EVERYTHING! That means there are TONS of people searching for great new content and if you can get your site listed for those terms that all those users are looking for guess who gets the FREE traffic just by being in google (and the other search engines). Yes, not only does search engine traffic help you grow and grow fast it is free traffic meaning you didn’t have to spend money to get the users there which means you make even more profit. Starting to get the picture of how important and great getting your site indexed in the search engines can be?

Ok, so we  realize traffic is good but TARGETED  traffic is where it is at. Sure, you might make a bit here and there if you somehow get users on your site with search terms like “funny cat stories”. But once those people that searched for “funny cat stories” show up on your site most will quickly realize your site doesn’t have what they want and will leave…and won’t stick around to use your content, click your ads or make you any money. But, lets say you add a really nice pack of “cute kitten myspace graphics” to your site and you end up getting indexed in the search engines for that term. So when users end up at your site who were looking for “cute kitten myspace graphics” in the search engines they will be happy to find exactly what they are looking for, will hopefully end up liking your images and using them, maybe sharing with friends and hopefully bookmarking your site to come back to later. They might fill up their profile with all your cute kitten images and then their friends, who also like cute kitten pictures, will see the images and where they came from and come back to your site to get them. Meaning more traffic and more revenue.
